Producer’s price of cotton registers hike

The producer price of cotton, which is the amount receivable by the producer from the purchaser for a unit of cotton produced as output minus any deductible tax, has registered a hike of 11 percent from 185 to 205 CFA francs per kilogram in Senegal, whereas the cotton production increased by 45 percent.
The Agricultural Minister has informed the Council of Ministers about the rise in the producer price of cotton. This robust increase in producer’s price of cotton will lead to a hike in the income of 80,000 cotton growers.
