Cotton prices rise
Mumbai, Jun 27: Cotton prices moved up today on fresh demand from industrial users, traders at the Cotton Association of India (CAI) said.
Cotton varieties like Karnataka Jayadhar and Punjab J-34 went up by Rs 500 per candy each, due to good demand from industrial users.
NHH-44 and Bunny Brahma gained by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per candy respectively on lesser stock supply from stockists, traders added.
Following were the cotton rates per candy (335.62 kg) in Rupees: Bengal Desi (RG) Rs.43,800 Bengal Desi (SG) Rs.44,000 V-797 Rs.20,000 Karnataka Jayadhar Rs.30,000 Y-1 NT Punjab-J-34 Rs.36,500 NHH-4 Rs.26,500 LRA Rs.30,500 H-4 Rs.35,500 S-6-A Rs.38,000 Bunny Brahma Rs.42,200 MCU-5 Rs.47,000 DCH Rs.63,000
