India permits exports of cotton yarn
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce – India, yesterday announced that, exports of cotton yarn will be allowed beginning from April 1, 2011.
Export of cotton yarn (Tariff Codes 5205, 5206 & 5207) was earlier restricted, with exports allowed only against a license.
However, now, export of cotton yarn has been permitted subject to registration of export contracts with DGFT.
The contracts for export of cotton yarn shall be registered with DGFT prior to shipment. Clearance of cotton yarn consignments shall be given by customs after verifying that the contracts have been registered.
