Mexico Cotton Production May Rise This Year, USDA Says

  • Mexico’s cotton production may rise to 683,000 bales in the year that ends July 31, up from an estimated 411,000 bales the previous year, a unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.

    Imports of the fiber will climb to 1.6 million bales this season, up from an estimated 1.511 million a year earlier, the agency’s Foreign Agricultural Service said in a report dated March 15 and posted today on its website.
