Ghana loses 625 million dollars due to poor cotton production

  • Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), the weekend, said Ghana has lost about 625 million dollars last year because the domestic cotton industry was latent.

    Mr. Mac Kok, Managing Director, WIENCO Ghana Ltd, said for more than 21 years, the company had been active in the agricultural sector and has participated in the production of improved seed varieties and agricultural inputs.
    He said the association would ensure the training of farmers, provision of good seeds and agricultural inputs.
    President Atta Mills, who is on a three-day working visit to the Upper East Region to become familiar with development projects, said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to renege on its promise to make life more comfortable for Ghanaians.
    He appealed the people to support the Government to develop the country, with emphasis on massive development programs in the country was enjoying within two years of his reign.
