Half of cotton crops destroyed in Queensland
BRISBANE (Commodity Online) : Pouring water on the expectations of a great cotton output, Queensland floods have destroyed half of the cotton crops in the province.
The loss in terms of numbers is yet to be released.
The farmers expect recovering at least three hundred thousand bales or a maximum of three fifty thousand.
"It was going to be the biggest year probably ever," a farmer lamented.
Cotton plants were washed away by water and the left over is not capable of much produce.
